Apples, Apples, Oriental Trading & a freebie

Hi Everyone! I hope your new school year is going well! We have been in school for 21 days! A lot has happened in that short amount of time.....a lot of rules have been learned and procedures have been taught (we are almost ready to start seeing guided reading groups)  .... so before all of that happens we have our special Apple Week! Our school librarian kicks it off by reading and discussing nonfiction and fiction apple books.

The apple costume comes from Oriental Trading (look at the worm holding the book) The students were glued to our wonderful apple reader! So cute!
We spent time in every subject area using apples, sorting apples, measuring ourselves with apples....counting apple ERASERS

We counted apples in a ten frame with this very fun math apple power point games, you can check out here!

Look, we are scientists using our senses to find out more about our apples!

We are still adjusting to our kindergarten afternoon....so we put on some quiet music and did some apple crafts! Thanks to Oriental Trading, we were able to write on our MAGIC color scratch apples and make beautiful tissue apples too!

And then of course we had to do some apple stamping! We use our beautiful apple stamped paper to make fall leaves for our tree in the hallway! Here is last years tree.

And for those of you looking for a companion activity to Ten Apples Up on Top, here is a free Math activity to help your students  use the ten frame help them add to 10!

Thanks for dropping by 2 Scoops of Kindergarten!
