How is your class handling Spring Fever this year?
When kindergartners have spring fever, their behavior often changes due to the excitement of the warmer weather, spring break coming, and the closeness to the end of the year! We have some help for you with our Spring themed bundle of activities!
What we have seen...
1. Increased Restlessness
- squirming, wiggling,
- difficulty staying seated
- frequent trips to the bathroom, water, visiting
2. Shortened Attention Span
- lack of focus
- unable to stay on task
- daydreaming
- needing directions repeated
3. Higher Energy Levels
- More physical play
- Interrupting more
- More talking
- Difficulty transitioning
4. Testing Limits
- Pushing boundaries
- Challenging expectations
- Trying to negotiate out of school expectations
What do we do?
- Embrace Movement (yoga, brain breaks, act out stories)
- Take learning outside if possible (bring chalk - practice math, sight words) Reading with a Buddy
- Keep lessons short
