Happy New Year Blog Hop!

Hi Friends, Gloria here to say Happy New Year to all of our friends out there! We are definitely grateful for all of you - 2014 was a wonderful year for us!
2015 is here and it is going to be a great year too! To start the new year off right, we have some freebies and some fabulous discounted products to tell you about and by the way, they are (50% off during the hop) January 1st through the 5th! Yeah!

Here at 2 Scoops, we are busy getting ready for our second half of our school year! It is the time of year when you really see a huge jump in the kiddos understanding and they GROW by leaps and bounds.
It also is a time of year sometimes they don't get to go outside because of the weather, sooo we need to use everything we have to keep them engaged and learning. (Hopefully all of our teacher friends out there have had a relaxing break!)

One way I engage my students in Math is to use everyday stories they can relate to. My January Addition & Subtraction Story Problems does just that but with another added piece ... a BIG way to keep their interest is to use their names when you are reading the math story problems. You will see them jump up and say "Hey that's me, or wow that's Sophia!" ... they will pay attention, believe me! Here is a peek ..... not only do they figure out the story problem answer but they use all the different strategies to do this.  I have included an example page for your students to see a model of what this looks like.

Here is where you can personalize your story problems.....

I also know that teachers are so busy this time of year so this product can also be print & go too.
There are 10 addition and 10 subtraction story problems (January related) ready for your class. I hope your class enjoys this as much as mine does! :)

Happy New Year from Rick! Here is an activity that will definitely have your students soooo excited! It's the Build a Bear Project with the Happy New Year Bear included! This is a fun way to get them back into the school year. Your students can choose and create their very own Build-a-Bear! My class did this last year and loved it.....so we can't wait to do this again! This year Rick has added all different pieces of clothing that your students can choose to make their bear their own. Here are some examples from Rick's class below.

Along with this is a freebie your students can use to write about their bear, click below:
